Visiting a Pumpkin Patch Farm

I just love the fall season (thus my blog theme change), it seems to come at just the right time when you feel done with the summer sun and heat and ready for a little cooler, weather...at least here in Cal (I know everyone's not so lucky). And my very favorite thing about it is that it means we're almost at Cmas, which is my very favorite holiday!! Hurrah!

So to kick off the season, we went to our first little pumpkin patch. It was a smaller one, but still tons of fun and just perfect for our little kids. So, here are some pix.

First up was the Cow train ride. We thought it was pretty unique. It went through a corn field and each little car was a cow and instead of a whistle for a train it would "moooo". The boys just LOVED that.

Happy Anniversary to us!

(A couple days ago)...

We made it through three years of marriage and two years of raising two darling, energetic boys (which sounds easier than it is.) I know the fun is just beginning and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else in this adventure. Thank you for your care, love, understanding, patience and so much more.

Here's to us and many more great years together!

Playing the glad game.

I've been having a bit of a rougher weekend, yesterday especially. It was just one of those days that by 11am I already wanted to call it quits, curl up in bed and restart. Instead, I found out late last night that on top of working today, Michael also has to work longer than expected. All roads were leaning towards a frustrated, sad, depressing day...so instead I decided that I'm going to try to change that by focusing on the things that are so great about my life and this weekend.
In short, play the glad game.

So, here are some things I have to be thankful for:

1) Weather under 90 degrees with a nice breeze.
2) Getting to wash my car and clean my house.
3) Daddy being home all day tomorrow and making a few extra bucks today.
4) A loving, amazing husband who works so hard to provide for us.
5) The prospect of a yummy pasta tonight.
6) Healthy boys -- and not having to rush Conner to the ER. (He fell down yesterday and banged his head quite badly which instantly turned into a black, blue and red welt.)
7) A sleep in.
8) An understanding, loving sister.
9) Autumn and the delightful holiday seasons to come.
10) Two adorable little boys who never fail to smile, laugh and bring me the world's greatest joy.

Gosh, that's a lot of things. Now, what was I complaining about?

Happiness is...

...Seeing the world through your kid's eyes. They turn the ordinary into extraordinary by enjoying every moment.

 

...Enjoying some good 'ol garden time with your favorite brother.

...A moment to yourself to get lost in a great book. :)

...Enjoying your "favorite drinks" (at least according to Conner) with son #1 

These are the kinds of things that help get me through "one of those days/weeks", put things back into perspective and make it all worth it again.

Summer fun and blessings.

With summer coming to a close, I've been contemplating on what a wonderful one it's best. One that has definitely stood out from others. Most definitely memorable. We are blessed. Here are some of the highlights I've been thinking about...

1) Moved to a new place and got set up in a gorgeously perfect place for us.
2) Kids had more Daddy time than ever!

3) More time together as a family than we've ever had!

4) Visited Italy and almost all of our extended family there...Grandparents, kids got to meet all but one cousin (we need to meet up sometime, Dora!), almost all the siblings (again, Dora and Kathy, we missed you!) and reunite with many wonderful friends...

5) Coming home again, we were blessed again with visits from my parents a couple times, all my siblings, and again, met up with almost all the cousins.

6) Lots of hot weather to enjoy our beautiful parks, splash parks, and water fun.

Gosh, I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting. But when thinking about it, I was so amazed that meeting up with everyone when we both come from larger families and are spread as far as we are, was quite the feat and made it quite a unique summer. Thanks to all to made a trip to visit us -- you made our summer unforgettable. 

And I thought I'd post some pix...otherwise, this is probably a very boring post. Most of these have been published on blogs already, but since they are some of my favorites, I'm putting them up again (although I haven't included any Italy pix, since I already posted so many of those).

App for Blogger

I hope that everyone who has smart phones and Blogger blogs saw this..."they" (I'm guessing it's the wonderful people who make blogger) have just made an app for Blogger so that you can blog from your phone, including with pictures and everything. Just what I've been waiting for!! It's what I've always thought would help me do better at keeping up with this blog...guess we'll see...but I thought I share the love.
